The Tech Garden Wishes Farewell to a Growing Business, Community
Volunteer and Leader... as he moves down the street to 407
South Warren Street
The Tech Garden announced one-year ago
that Tony Baird Electronics (TBE) achieved graduation and
was elevated to "Acceleration" client status at the Syracuse
Technology Garden. Tony Baird is the president and CEO of
Tony Baird Electronics, Inc. (www.TonyBairdElectronics.com).
TBE has now progressed beyond graduation requirements and
is moving to a new location to accommodate growth.

TBE achieved
graduation because it has reached well over $2 million in
annual revenues and has hired additional employees. TBE is a and
minority owned small business owned by Tony Baird, a disabled veteran.
The company specializes in manufacturing processes and quality
control. TBE provides high quality, low price customized
cable harnesses and assemblies to customers in the New York
state area, and is now expanding throughout the country. "Our
goal has always been to pay attention to every detail of our customers
needs. If you take care of the customer, everything else falls
into place," said Baird. In 2010 the company will expand its quality,
sales, and procurement staff by 20 percent.
TBE was a finalist
at the Greater Syracuse Chamber of Commerce Annual Business
of the Year dinner held in March, and runner-up for the Minority
Small Business Person of the Year Award in 2008. Baird serves
as a member of the City of Syracuse Governance Board for Economic
Development and on the WCNY Board. He is a supporter of Junior
Achievement of CNY and Partners for Education and Business
Incorporated. In February 2009, Baird received the Trailblazer
Award for Black History month from the Greater Syracuse Chamber
of Commerce. Since joining The Tech Garden, TBE has earned the
following certifications: 1) Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small
Business (SDVOSB), 2) City of Syracuse MBE, 3) State of New York
MBE, 4) Empowerment Zone company, and 5) Service Disadvantaged
(Small) Business SDB/8(a).
Baird’s background is actually in education.
After his time in the U.S. Army, he taught and was a coach
at CBA, Syracuse City School District and Central Square. His love
for the military and disadvantaged children in the City School
district is very strong – which is evident in his vision to develop
opportunities for children to experience hands on learning, mentoring
and internships. When not busy running his business you will find
Baird at school or other opportunities meeting, encouraging and
mentoring the youth of Syracuse.
Congratulations to Tony Baird
and his team at Tony Baird Electronics, Inc.
