Syracuse Tomorrow Announces Endorsements
Syracuse Tomorrow, the political action committee of the Greater Syracuse
Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to announce the slate of endorsements
for the 2009 elections. The board consists of Chamber member business
owners who seek to identify and support pro-business, pro-growth individuals
serving in office and running for office each year.
The endorsements are
the culmination of a process that includes:
lengthy
conversations with all of the mayoral candidates
before the primary
- candidate questionnaires
- personal
interviews and panels with more than two dozen
of the candidates, including an hour long panel
interview with the three mayoral candidates
- discussion
of voting records and positions on business issues
This year we expanded our process to include members of the Chamber’s
Government Relations Committee in the interview process.
They participated in the questioning of candidates, but did not vote.
Syracuse City Mayor - No endorsement
The votes of the board members were distributed among the candidates
with no one individual receiving enough votes to receive an endorsement.
